About the Role As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians who reside on the Cassowary Coast , ranging from suburbs Tully to Babinda , to assist them in remaining living independently in their home. Travel will be required, with distances of up to 50 minutes to support clients across the region. This is a casual opportunity, with approximately 10 hours per week, building over time. Hours will be between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening, weekend, or sleepover shifts. Flexible hours are available, and can be tailored to suit school hours or other commitments if required. Key Responsibilities Domestic assistance duties. This consists of light cleaning duties, changing of bed linen, washing/laundry In-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily living Social supports inclusive of support to attend medical appointments, social activities in the local community, building/maintaining social networks Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and well-being (for example, identification of wound care needs, skin integrity, etc) Skills & Experience Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) or prior industry experience is highly regarded Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment) Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check.
