Student Affairs Division This is an expression of interest for multiple casual vacancies with an hourly rate of $42.93 per hour plus superannuation guarantee (HEW 3.1). The Peer Writing Project will run in Semester 1 and 2, 2025, on a drop-in basis each day at our St Lucia campus About This Opportunity Do you have a flair for academic writing and a passion for helping others? Are you an excellent communicator with the ability to relate well to a diverse range of students? Become a Student Writing Leader in our pilot Peer Writing Program and get paid to put your skills and experience to good use As a Casual Student Writing Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting UQ students' academic success. You will work closely with students, providing guidance and feedback on their writing, and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them develop their writing skills through constructive feedback and guidance. Conduct workshops and tutorials on various writing topics, such as academic writing, critical thinking, and referencing. Educate students on academic integrity and plagiarism prevention. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your own skills and knowledge. All successful candidates will receive induction and training to work at UQ. Only current UQ students are eligible to apply. About You Currently enrolled at UQ with; minimum 2 semesters completed of university level writing intensive courses a cumulative GPA of 6 or higher. Ability to work effectively with diverse student groups and provide clear, constructive feedback. Ability to commit to an average of 4 hours of work per week Be available to support students during key academic periods. You must have work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment.
