The Position - Dietitian Grade 1 Casual Provide direct nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and/or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and/or outpatients. Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate. Uses nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards. Document patients’ medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner. Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required. Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups within the Division. Develop and review dietary education resources. Participate in other hospital activities as assigned. Supervise, instruct and assess dietetic students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager. Essential A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care. Tertiary qualification in Dietetics and eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) (formerly known as Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)) and evidence of Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status. Demonstrated ability to appropriately apply Evidenced Based Practise and dietetic knowledge to patient/client management.
