The Defence Fuels Network (DFN) is an extensive network of more than 100 Defence Fuel Installations (DFI’s) across Australia providing fuel for Army, Navy and Airforce operations. The Defence Fuels Network Managing Contractor Contract (DFN MCC) sees UGL partnering with the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) in delivering strategic and recurring services to Australia’s Defence Forces in Fuel and Inventory Management, Asset, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations Management and delivery while enhancing and maximising Australian supply chain and participation. The Opportunity Great opportunity for an Engineer to step into a stable operations and maintenance role supporting the defence sector. Be part of a growing team delivering essential services and contributing to projects that matter. Key responsibilities: Leading engineering design reviews in the development of minor project works. Develop scopes of work, set clear expectations up-front, and manage subcontractors to deliver outcomes across a broad range of project development. Conduct multi-disciplinary engineering investigations and root cause analyses to address operational challenges. Engage appropriate Subject Matter Experts to ensure outcomes are achieved in the required timeframes. Assist with asset return to service, managing the review of QA documentation. Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned sites to support operational continuity and provide backup support for Superintendents and Supervisors as required. Experience as a Project Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry, with Tank Storage experience being highly regarded Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Mechanical Engineering Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the field of due diligence and asset evaluation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, assess conditions, and make sound recommendations.
