This role will commence as soon as possible. The Event & Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales, planning, coordinating, and executing corporate functions at Sydney Zoo. This role involves researching the feasibility of new events, creating business cases for innovative function types, and managing an annual event calendar aligned with budgetary goals. The manager oversees the seamless operation of functions, with a focus on corporate events, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Close collaboration with key departments, particularly Guest Experience and Marketing, is essential. Additionally, the role entails developing and managing the sales and marketing strategy, with a strong emphasis on planning and execution. In partnership with the Food and Beverage team and other marketing stakeholders, the Event & Sales Manager will shape the sales and marketing approach for all corporate events at Sydney Zoo. Skills, Knowledge, and Relevant Experience Essential Minimum 5 year’s relevant experience in an equivalent position which must include end-to-end event management . Clear and professional communication skills internally and externally. Excellent written communications skills – you express yourself clearly and concisely. Design and styling skills – natural eye for what looks good. Qualifications in Project Management and experience (client and supplier management, budgeting and producing). Experience using event management software is a plus. Work autonomously as well as under direction; get on with the job. Collaborates well with others and is a strong negotiator and influencer. Multi-task and work under time pressure. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills. Food and beverage knowledge and understand market trends. Why should you join the Zoo Crew?
