Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital The Senior Engineer ensures that the hospital assets are maintained to meet operational requirements, and SJGHC’s obligations with respect to Australian Standards, relevant regulatory and licensing requirements in a best practice and cost-effective manner. The Position Develop maintenance plans and schedules and implement best practice workflow systems and processes that ensure the facilities are being maintained to meet operational requirements and obligations in relation to Australian Standards, manufacturers’ recommendations, private hospital licensing and all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements. Develop, implement, monitor and report on maintenance scheduling KPI’s utilising a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS). Job planning and coordination as per priority, including but not limited to: Management of new Work Order (WO) notifications, Check availability of material in stock for the job in hand, raise purchase orders, track supplies and manage order receipts and backlogs; Check and plan availability of resources; Ensure accurate recording of time spent on job and perform productivity analysis; Ensure technical completion of job in CMMS and; Plan, arrange and optimise usage of external resources as required. Deploy in-house trades and maintenance contractors, conducting preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities, and shutdowns to ensure this is consistent with the plans and schedules. Assist Engineering Manager in preparation of maintenance strategies, job scopes, and service agreements. Continuously improve PM tasks and frequency in line with equipment criticality and cost optimization. Manage and continuously improve the CMMS database and asset management documentation. Review and update Standard Operating Procedures/ inspection check sheets. Organise / Manage/ Ensure technical documentation and traceability. Assist the Manager Engineering Services in the development of annual budgets, routine maintenance budgets and longer term financial planning. Certify job completion by external service providers and verify invoices for approval by Manager. Cost tracking and cost reports for review and optimisation of cost. You will have a Trade qualification with experience in similar role with responsibility of preparing maintenance contracts and planning maintenance activities. You will demonstrate highly developed skills in analysing and resolving complex problems and issues along with extensive knowledge of buildings, building practices and Australian Standards. To succeed you will have a sound knowledge of hospital engineering maintenance including, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and medical equipment. Due to the nature of engineering problems in a modern hospital, a good knowledge of all trades is required, e.g. plumbing, steam, air conditioning and refrigeration, carpentry, electrical and electronic controls in all aspects of hospital equipment and facilities.
