About the role Mater Pathology is currently seeking applications for the role of Administration Officer on a fixed term full-time basis until 30 th June 2025. This role will be providing administration support within our Anatomical Pathology/Cytology Department and Customer Service Centre. Shift times range from 6:00am through to 6:00pm Monday – Friday, with potential for weekend work. The successful application will be offered a 6 month fixed term contract where you will wok a 38 hour work week. The Anatomical Pathology division provides all the anatomic pathology services for the Mater Public and Private Hospitals as well as referrals from community medical centres and other hospitals. Salary range: $36.52 - $ 40.81 (MCA3) per hour plus Superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits What you'll be doing As an Administration Officer, your responsibilities will include: Transcribing anatomical pathology reports from an intranet dictation system Data entry of anatomic pathology and cytology specimen details into the laboratory information system - ULTRA Updating and maintaining records Typing of correspondence and scientific papers Preparation of slides for meetings Attend incoming telephone enquiries. General administrative duties as directed. About you To be eligible for this position, you will possess the following: Previous experience transcribing anatomic pathology reports for 2 years Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, in particular of anatomic pathology Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to prioritise workloads where required and work without supervision It will be highly desirable to also possess the following; Data entry and call center experience highly recommended Familiarity with Ultra laboratory information system Familiarity with the pathology laboratory environment, particularly in regard to safety and quality matters.
