Primary purpose of the role Under the broad direction from the Director, Facilities and Engineering, the role is responsible for the effective service delivery of ARPANSA's Facilities and Engineering portfolios. You will be responsible for a range of priority work each financial year, including identification and implementation of energy efficiency initiatives. You will be responsible for management of the resources within the Facilities & Engineering section, providing direction on business requirements which align to the strategic direction of the branch and agency. You will regularly review the Facilities and Engineering operations to ensure compliance with ARPANSA's statutory obligations and service delivery in terms of work health and safety, quality, physical security, contract management, pricing, process improvement and capital investment. The role will also work in partnership with a variety of ARPANSA stakeholders & sub-project teams, as well as specialist contractors to deliver large infrastructure projects and oversight of a range of functions. The key duties of the position include Key accountabilities Provide support to the Director in delivering large capital infrastructure projects, including management of projects and development of project documentation and reporting associated with the facilities and engineering portfolio. Lead, mentor and develop a high performing team culture. Plan, lead and manage the Facilities and Engineering portfolio to ensure the effective delivery of facilities, stores, procurement, administration and infrastructure project services for the Agency. Ensure the Facilities and Engineering portfolio is compliant with all Work Health & Safety (WHS) and physical security requirements across both Victorian and New South Wales sites. Work proactively with the nominated Property Service Provider (PSP) under the Property Services Coordinated Procurement (PSCP) arrangement to ensure ongoing maintenance of ARPANSA facilities. Ongoing identification, investigation and implementation of energy efficiency initiatives. Proactively manage contractual and procurement arrangements with external contractors in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules. Identify and implement productivity improvements to maximise resource utilisation; and Undertake allotted tasks as a member of the Section and Office as required.
