This is a Grade 1 New Graduate Social Work position, which provides high quality Social Work assessments, intervention and discharge planning. The New Graduate Social Worker is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and is expected to share their assessment with the team and work together to formulate a comprehensive and safe discharge plan for the patient. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The role is located on an acute inpatient ward. This is a full-time (80 hours per week) fixed term position for 12 months, including an ADO each month. To be successful in this role you will have: Experience in undertaking comprehensive psychosocial assessments, intervention, and discharge planning of patients, preferably within a hospital inpatient setting. Demonstrated ability to complete timely risk assessments and intervention to patients experiencing crisis, including a sound understanding of appropiate legslation when required. Well-developed interpersonal, practical negotiation, conflict resolution and communication skills. Commitment to ongoing professional development and dedication to ongoing Quality Improvement. Good knowledge of relevant community resources and information. Eligibility for membership of the AASW. Next Steps . . .
