About the Role This role provides a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in power systems to manage and execute large-scale projects involving critical power system design, analysis, and commissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the strategic direction of power systems integration, and leading a team to meet project deadlines and technical requirements. Accountabilities: Leading and delivering power systems design and analysis projects, ensuring they meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. Managing the execution of large-scale power system projects, including grid connections, Generator Performance Standards (GPS) compliance assessments, and modelling tasks. Conducting power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analysis, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Providing technical expertise and leadership in power system engineering, ensuring accurate troubleshooting and problem-solving, especially in software platforms like PSSE, PSCAD, and Python. Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, enhancing their technical skills, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Managing project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Supporting the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and methodologies to optimise efficiency and outcomes for the team. About You The ideal candidate will have: Over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, specialising in grid connections, Generator Performance Standards (GPS) compliance, and power system studies. Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering; postgraduate qualifications in engineering or management are valued. Expertise in connection applications, hold point testing, GPS compliance, and regulatory requirements. Professional credentials (CPEng, RPEQ, or RPEV) are advantageous. Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting software (PSSE, PSCAD, Python). Hands-on experience with PSSE and PSCAD (essential); PowerFactory and SINCAL (highly desired). Familiarity with Python and Matlab (highly desired). Strong skills in power systems design, analysis, and commissioning. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proven project management experience, handling multiple priorities, deadlines, and budgets. Leadership and mentoring experience, with a history of developing junior engineers.
