A once in a lifetime opportunity for a Control Systems expert with PCS7 / Rockwell Studio 5000 experience to work on an iconic Hydro Power Plant. Hydro Power Control Systems Engineer The Company This global powerhouse engineering firm, regarded in industry as the Rolls Royce of Turbines and Hydro Power Plants with expertise and innovation across the Mechanical and Electrical sectors is the main contractor for Snowy 2.0. A multi-billion dollar company with 10s of 1000s of staff around the globe. The Role You will be responsible for the technical realization of hydro power plant control systems as part of the Snowy 2.0 project, utilizing Siemens and Rockwell controller platforms. This role includes developing system concepts based on project specifications and customer requirements, hardware and software engineering throughout the project lifecycle, and planning communication and network systems while adhering to cyber security standards. You will manage schedules and quality requirements, prepare technical documentation, and commission control systems. Working closely with the project team and external partners, you will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality control solutions, meeting the demands of the Snowy 2.0 project with precision and reliability. What You'll be Doing Technical realisation of hydro power plant control systems on Siemens and Rockwell controller basis. Development of system concepts based on project specifications and customer requirements. Responsibility for Hard- and Software engineering during the entire engineering process. Planning of communication and network systems ( IEC, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus , EtherNet/IP, etc. under consideration of cyber security requirements. Responsibility for meeting time schedules and quality requirements A Bit About You Completed education (degree) in electrical, automation or information technology engineering. Experience in control systems of advantage. Alternatively: Technician level education with relevant professional experience Fluent English spoken and written. German and further languages knowledge of advantage (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese, French) MS-Office skills Experience with Siemens PCS7 / Rockwell Studio 5000 of advantage. Site conditions A typical roster of 14 days in, 7 days out. Salary uplift (25%) while on side Camp accommodation and Food is provided. Project Information: Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
