YOUR DREAM OPPORTUNITY As the Senior Designer , you will be responsible for leading our Woven Tops category and creating captivating collections in line with Forever New's handwriting. You will identify new product opportunities within the Seasonal Design Brief, alongside your high-performing Design Team. You will work hand in hand with our talented in-house pattern team to transform initial concepts into tangible, stunning samples, ensuring your visionary designs come to life. Additionally, you will lead the range plan management, ensuring every piece meets brand standards for fit and quality, whilst partnering with our fabric experts to curate an elegant range for every season. Key responsibilities: Create/visualise outstanding new designs in line with Forever New handwriting and product strategy. Demonstrate an awareness of competitors and external trends, identifying missed opportunities and trends. Actively promote new product ideas based on trend awareness above and beyond catwalk inspiration, enabling forward fashion product relevant to the FN customer which stands Forever New apart from competitors. Proactive participation in weekly Design meetings, contributing to group discussion by sharing new ideas and observations. Participate in collaborative workshops with design team to develop on trend/commercial story boards and colour palettes in line with Forever New brand. To create, together with the Design Team a Strategic Design Brief in line with the Business Area Strategy. Working with the Colour and Fabric Designer to implement colour direction, colour palette, and research into fabric trends and innovations for the season. Briefing buyers on key products/materials/fabrics, challenging where appropriate. Advising buyers on the aesthetics of the first fit. Participating in supplier briefings with Buyer and Quality Assurors, updating designs when appropriate. Advising Buyer on styling, finishes and selecting samples Assist with presenting trend boards per product category, with direction from monthly story boards, to buyer to ensure that key trends, shapes, colour direction and fabrics are considered. Research fabric trends for the season and in consultation with the Designer brief Production team to source fabric and trims. At initial product development stage provide input to the product framework to ensure that the category’s design direction is balanced, reflecting new trends and optimising “updates” to existing best-sellers. In consultation with the Designer, advise Buyer on styling, fabric, trim, print and finish Strong Strategic planning, leadership and organisational skills. Provide clear communication, guidance and direction when required to all team members in order that the team and personal achievements are met. Work closely with your Designers, Buyers, Quality Assurers and suppliers to achieve business goals And so much more THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU OFFER US Qualification in Fashion Design/Graphic Design is essential 3 – 5 years previous experience as a Senior Designer/Designer Skilled in visualising design concepts (by hand and/or PC/MAC) Ability to translate fashion trends into commercial design concepts Creative talent and high attention to detail Sound technical knowledge and garment construction skills Basic fabric and raw material knowledge Demonstrate a basic understanding of all critical path elements and their impact on sales Computer literacy in Computer literacy in InDesign, Illustrator, CAD and PowerPoint Computer literacy in desktop products, including Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word) A sound knowledge of local and overseas fashion retail markets Whether we’re designing our latest fashion collection, learning, laughing, and collaborating as a team or providing expert styling advice to our loyal customers, these are a few of the values engrained in our DNA: Think Customer Respect for all Keep it Simple Take Responsibility Act with Pace Join Forever New and become part of a community that values your uniqueness and offers exciting opportunities for personal and professional growth.
