THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Director to lead our high-performing sales team. You will manage a team of four Account Executives and one Business Development Representative, focusing on enterprise retailers generating greater over $20M in Gross Merchandising Sales annually or spending more than $2M per year on shipping expenses. This is a leadership role requiring a hands-on approach to selling, team management, and driving results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. DAY TO DAY Leadership & Team Management: Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Account Executives and a Business Development Representative to exceed sales targets. Drive accountability through goal setting, regular performance reviews, and professional development plans. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the sales team. Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute strategies to target enterprise retailers fitting Shippit’s ideal customer profile. Utilise and improve already established sales enablement tools, scripts, and processes to achieve revenue growth. Personally engage in high-value deals, managing the sales cycle from prospecting to closing when necessary. Operational Excellence: Shippit has one of Australia’s best Sales Operations and Data teams; these teams exist to support you in achieving your goals. Collaborate with Sales Operations and other departments to optimise sales processes, commission plans, and performance metrics. Leverage CRM and analytics tools to provide accurate forecasting and pipeline management. Monitor market trends and customer needs to refine sales strategies and inform product development. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Product Marketing, Product, and Account Management teams to align on account strategies and drive customer success. Provide insights and feedback to influence go-to-market initiatives and product positioning. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Experience: 7 years in B2B sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams. Proven track record of success in selling SaaS technology to enterprise customers, preferably in the retail or logistics sectors. Experience selling to customers with >$20M Gross Merchandising Sales or significant shipping spend is highly desirable. Skills: Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with a focus on driving team performance. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Hands-on approach to sales, with the ability to step in and close key deals when needed. Proficiency in using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), sales enablement platforms, and analytics dashboards. Mindset: Results-driven, with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets. Adaptable and comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. Strategic thinker with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
