About the Role: We are currently working with a leading financial services organisation, a hub of the banking sector within Australia. The organisation in question is going through a large transformation programme and upgrade to its core technology systems and platforms. The majority of their technology sits on premise and they are looking for a strong technical all rounder with a background in infrastructure and systems design to support the next phase of the upgrade. As such you will be able to demonstrate clear experience across: Infrastructure Management: You'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our on-premise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and network configurations. System Administration: You'll manage Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V, ensuring everything runs seamlessly. Network Support: You'll monitor and maintain our LAN/WAN infrastructure, configure network devices, and ensure optimal performance and uptime. Security Management: You'll implement and enforce security policies, manage firewalls, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Backup and Recovery: You'll oversee data backup and recovery processes to ensure business continuity and data integrity. Collaboration & Support: You'll provide technical support to our internal teams, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors for maintenance and support. Documentation: You'll create and maintain detailed documentation for our infrastructure configurations and processes. Project Participation: You'll contribute to various IT infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and deployments, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. What We're Looking For: Essential Skills: Experience in managing IT infrastructure, particularly on-premise environments. Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux servers. Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V. Strong understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and firewalls. Knowledge of storage solutions like SAN and NAS, and backup technologies. Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management. Understanding of IT security best practices, ITIL processes and OSI components. What's on Offer: Initial six month contract with approved extension, also possibility to go temp to perm at the term of the project. Daily rate from $900 - $1000 inc super Flexible working, 3 days in the office and two from home.
