cmr|Cornerstone Medical Recruitment are seeking a Senior Social Worker (Level 3) for a well-established Emergency Department based in Melbourne, joining on a permanent part-time basis (0.6FTE). Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing effective social casework services to clients of the designated units, and providing leadership to the Social Work and ED departments. Key Responsibilities To provide effective social casework services to clients of designated units Active participation in regular multidisciplinary client-related meetings Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client contacts in medical files and social work notes To keep statistics as required by the social work department and the hospital Provide a leadership role within the Social Work and ED Departments to promote teamwork and development Participate in departmental organisational tasks as requested by the social work manager Assist in planning and organisation of social work services in the area of emergency medicine Actively participate in the development of social work knowledge and practice through quality assurance and research activities within the hospital Student and staff supervision as requested by the Social Work Manager To evaluate key activities in accordance with accreditation Participate in annual performance plan and review Maintain a safe and mentally healthy environment for patients/self/colleagues and members of the public Maintain the safety of children and vulnerable people by acting in accordance with all child and vulnerable people related policies, procedures and regulations Escalate concerns regarding safety, quality and risk to an appropriate staff member Participate in evaluation and continuous improvement and clinical indicator processes About You Experience working in a multidisciplinary team with complex individuals and families, across the lifespan Ability to provide leadership, team building and support in the Social Work (SW) and Emergency Departments Advanced social work practice and supervisory skills Ability to manage and work as part of a multidisciplinary team Willingness and ability to participate in a weekend, public holiday roster and after-hours roster Excellent inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills Proven time management and problem-solving skills in responding to changing work environments and competing priorities Strong understanding of, and ability to comply with relevant legislation and frameworks underpinning health social work i.e., Children Youth and Families Act, Medical Treatment Planning and Decisions Act, Family Violence and Protection Act Ability to contribute to the development of policies and procedures for relevant departments Ability to represent the SW Department on hospital committees, and the hospital on relevant community committees and working parties Remuneration package: up to $96,345 inclusive per annum (0.6FTE) If this sounds like something of interest please get in touch: Ilona Manea | Senior Consultant, Social Care Team.
