The Battery Storage Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, installation, and commissioning of grid-scale battery energy storage systems. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful technical delivery of energy storage solutions that enhance grid stability, support renewable energy integration, and contribute to the decarbonisation of the energy sector. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the technical design and delivery of battery storage systems. Work with the project team to ensure successful commissioning, testing, and operational performance of energy storage systems. Conduct detailed technical analysis to optimise the performance of energy storage systems in line with grid requirements and project specifications. Support the integration of storage systems with renewable energy generation technologies such as wind and solar. Collaborate with various internal teams including engineering, procurement, and operations to ensure all technical aspects of the project are delivered on time and within budget. Assist in the development of technical specifications and provide input into the procurement process for battery storage solutions. Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Travel to project sites to provide technical oversight during the installation and commissioning phase. Key Requirements A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualifications in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the energy storage or renewable energy sector. Solid technical knowledge of battery storage systems, grid integration, and electrical systems. Experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of large-scale energy storage systems is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia as required.
