The Senior Product & Tooling Engineer/Technician works within the Engineering and Facilities Services (EFS) Branch. Reporting to the Product and Tooling Engineering Manager, they support the design and manufacturing operations of the Mint. They provide engineering and technical support to design and implement tooling to produce coins, tokens, medals and medallions. This includes developing master tools, coining dies and collars for the manufacture of individual products; providing mechanical design support for press tooling; and providing engineering drafting services for coining dies, press tooling and mechanical parts. The key duties of the position include Designing, developing and implementing coining press tooling. Designing and developing new coin-like products and associated tooling, including master tools, coining dies and collars. Drafting mechanical designs and engineering drawings to support production areas. Supporting the development of plans to address manufacturing risks, conducting product trials, and identifying and implementing measures to improve production capability. Supporting the development and maintenance of the Product and Tooling team's procedures and guidelines ensuring alignment with the Quality Management System. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders with various technical abilities to gather and provide information, and negotiate and manage production expectations. Conducting research to identify and implement industry best practice.
