Our STEM Institute focuses on Engineering, Design, and Technologies preparing students to excel in a rapidly evolving world. We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to head our STEM Institute, leading its strategic direction, driving innovation, and fostering excellence in teaching and learning. The Role As the Head of the STEM Institute (Engineering, Design, and Technology), you will: Lead the development and implementation of an inspiring STEM curriculum that integrates engineering, design, and technology Oversee a dedicated team of educators and specialists, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and supportive culture Ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across the institute Build partnerships with industry leaders, universities, and external stakeholders to enhance student learning opportunities and outcomes Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across the STEM disciplines Stay ahead of emerging trends in technology and engineering education, continuously improving the quality and relevance of our programs Act as a key advocate for STEM education, both within the school and the broader community Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and operational management for the STEM Institute Drive forward academic excellence and student achievement in STEM subjects Lead curriculum development, ensuring alignment with the latest innovations and industry practices Support staff professional development, mentoring, and performance management Collaborate with other academic departments to foster interdisciplinary projects and initiatives Manage budgets, resources, and external partnerships to support the institute’s goals Champion diversity and inclusion within the STEM fields About You We are looking for a passionate, forward-thinking leader with a strong background in engineering, design, and technology education. You will have: A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Design, Technology, or related fields), with advanced qualifications (Master’s or PhD) preferred Proven leadership experience within an educational institution or similar environment, with a track record of successfully leading teams. A deep understanding of STEM education, including curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire staff, students, and external partners A commitment to promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement Experience building partnerships with industry, academia, and the wider community to enrich student learning The successful applicant must hold Queensland College of Teachers registration and be willing to have their name submitted to the Anglican Church’s Professional Standards Register.
