The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool, the Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush. We are an Australian tourism icon that attracts some 500,000 visitors annually. The Outdoor Museum is internationally renowned as a living museum featuring rare trades, and programs and experiences that interpret a pivotal point in Australia's history. In all, some 350 staff work to bring our gold-rush story to life. They are supported by over 250 volunteers. Job Title: Retail Customer Service Officer Location: 39 Magpie St, Ballarat Victoria Company Overview: Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a renowned organization that prides itself on bringing history to life through its various historical museums and properties. We are now seeking to engage a Retail Customer Service Officer who will be responsible for delivering high quality, engaging customer service experiences and driving store sales. Job Responsibilities: 1. Handle day-to-day retail operations within the museum shop. 2. Welcome patrons, answer their questions, provide information about products, and assist them in making product choices. 3. Process transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring the customers are fully informed about their purchases and the Museum's returns policy. 4. Assist with inventory management, including stock control, ordering, and maintaining the visual merchandising standards of the store. 5. Participate in promotional events such as seasonal sale events, new product launches, or special exhibitions. 6. Contribute to the overall team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Required Qualifications: 1. Previous retail and customer service experience preferred. 2. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. 3. Strong sales ability and familiarity with Point of Sales (POS) systems. 4. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings. 5.
