The Role The College is seeking a skilled Visual Arts Teacher to deliver a cutting-edge curriculum at Sheldon College. As part of a dynamic team of dedicated professionals, in purpose-built spaces fitted with state-of-the-art technology you will enhance the capabilities of students within the subjects of Visual Art and coordinate co-curricular excellence classes, Junior to Senior. The ideal candidate will have a second teaching area, ideally English, however, any area welcome. This role is Perm; Commencing 2025 Academic Year. Multiple areas of expertise would be of great advantage. Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). Ability to plan and deliver exceptional teaching and learning programs that meet the needs of students in Visual Art and English according to ACARA and QCAA. Experience and knowledge in preparing students for External Examinations. Knowledge of QCAA QCE processes (i.e. Endorsement, Confirmation, External Assessment). Passion for quality learning and teaching, and the ability to translate this into a challenging learning environment with strong student engagement and excellent academic outcomes. Ability to create a safe, secure learning environment in which trust is fostered, individual differences are respected and valued, and students are encouraged to be risk takers and self-directed learners. Capacity for reflection and self-directed learning with a commitment to continuously improve teaching practices. Ability to apply creative and innovative practices and processes in education and digital platform tools to support student learning.
