Position Information Merrylands High School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school (enrolment 790 students, including 72% students from a non-English speaking background). Approval and / or experience in teaching Special Education (Secondary). In particular Autism and / or Behaviour Difficulties and / or Mild-Moderate Intellect Disability and / or Emotion Disturbance. 2. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a differentiated curriculum and quality assessments for learning practices that meet the academic, social, emotional and behaviour needs of the students. 3. Demonstrated effective classroom management skills and an understanding of and capacity to manage the needs of students with challenging behaviours. 4. Highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work proactively and professionally as part of a team, including parent/carers, school learning support officers and the wider school community. Conditions The successful applicant may be eligible to receive a one-off recruitment payment of $20,000. (Conditions apply) An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
