Position Information Googong Public School is a purpose built future focused learning environment located on the lands of the Ngambri and Ngunnawal People, with 35 classrooms including 2 supported learning classes, catering for over 700 students. We have 30% EAL/D population and 16 students who identify as either Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The school has state of the art technology resources; large landscaped outdoor learning and play spaces; a multipurpose court; multi-function hall; air-conditioned classrooms; special purpose rooms; and a well-resourced library. Googong Public School is located at the heart of the Googong township and provides students with quality educational programs delivered by highly qualified and dedicated teachers and support staff. With a strong academic focus, students experience unique opportunities that challenge and extend their learning across an extensive curriculum. Selection Criteria Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6), with a proven ability to implement explicit literacy and numeracy programs using evidence and data to inform practice to support and extend a diverse range of learners. Highly developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work flexibly as part of a collaborative team to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the broader community. Capacity to create a positive classroom learning environment and support students through effective classroom and behaviour management skills that enhance learning, engagement, and wellbeing. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
