About you: • A genuine desire to provide the best quality care for people with disabilities • Demonstrated experience working with Challenging and positive behaviour support plans • Understanding, ability and willingness to implement Person-Centre Practice • The ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines • Sound communication skills – verbal and written • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Effective organisational and time management skills • Commitment to cross cultural awareness • High level of professionalism including the confidential management of all organisational, service user and employee information About the role: As a Support Worker you will need to be available to work across a number of sites across Geelong, with shift types, including early morning, afternoon, evening, weekends, sleepovers, active nights and short shifts. We require minimum of 3 shifts a week availability. • Flexibility to work various shifts, including sleepovers, active nights, and weekends. • Assist clients with daily activities including medication assistance, personal care, domestic duties, meal preparation, dressing, personal hygiene, and community access. • Follow established practices, care plans, and procedures. • Maintain accurate documentation including progress notes and incident reports. • Participate in supervision and training sessions as required. • Ensure compliance with work practices and documentation standards. • Uphold professional integrity and maintain client confidentiality. • Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills and Experience: • At least 1-year full time work experience undertaken in Australia in Health, Aged Care or Disability Services. • A Certificate III or IV in Disability, Nursing, Individual Support or Aged Care. • The use of assistance equipment, including manual and electric hoists, manual and electric wheelchairs, and/or other adaptive items. • Providing all aspects of personal care, including showering and toileting. • Administering and prompting medication compliance. • Demonstrated understanding of following stipulated procedures. • Local knowledge of Geelong and surrounding areas is highly desirable. Licence/Certifications: • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or the ability to obtain one (Essential). • Satisfactory Working with Children's Check (Employee) or the ability to obtain one (Essential). • Current Driver’s Licence, your own car, and comprehensive/third-party insurance (Essential). • NDIS Worker Screening Check ID or the ability to obtain one (Essential). • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (Preferred). • Infection Control training certificate (Preferred).
