Our Child Care Team are currently looking for a Child Care Educator to be an active team member which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children by developing strong relationships with children and families. To be involved in implementing the policies and procedures at all times, and working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of the service’s operations. Other aspects of the role include: Children Follow Room Leader’s direction and guidance when interacting with children. Engage, assist, settle and comfort each child into activities as well as the centre/room routine. Use positive behaviour management with children in accordance with centre policy. Monitor the physical health and safety of children following centre policies and procedures including the administration of first aid and medication procedures. Ensure input to the daily journal, weekly highlights, and individual assessment of children’s learning against the EYLF learning outcomes. Supervise children at all times, engaging with children’s learning experiences as per displayed supervision plans. Staff Demonstrate the code of conduct/code of ethics in all interactions and relationships at the service. Be proactive in supporting a healthy team environment and culture. Contribute to conversations through shared observations of children and sharing new ideas. Be proactive in the critical reflection practice of the centre. Parents Share positive information about the children with their parents/carers daily. Develop non biased good rapport with all parents/carers. Respect each family and their values. Administration Ensure all documented procedures are implemented in relation to all aspects of centre operation including health/safety/accidents/medication/illness as per centre policy. Record daily information provided by staff/parent in communication books/journals to facilitate communication. Complete ‘end of day’ checks. Undertake and implement the requirements of Quality Assurance. Ideally our desired candidate will have: Diploma in Child Care Education Experience in: Working with children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years Working with additional needs preferred Demonstrated effective communication skills and ability to work as a team member Be proactive in knowledge and work in accordance with the requirements of: All National and State-Based Education and Care Services Laws and Regulations; National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care; Code of Ethics of the Early Childhood Australia; and the policies and procedures of Hillsong Child Care Centre.
