Job Description The Story An exciting opportunity has become available with a community based not-for-profit public company, based in Melbourne's CBD, and endorsed by the Australian Government, who champion an open, free, secure and global internet for all Australians. The Role As a Cloud Engineer you'll design and maintain robust AWS cloud infrastructure and harness your expertise in automation, Linux and database management to enhance performance and security. You'll also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize data lakes and pipelines, driving innovation and seamless analytics for their cloud-based solutions. Within the next 12 - 18 months you'll work on a super exciting piece of work to build and automate a new environment from scratch, working closing with a third party provider around the coding involved. You'll bring your breadth of experience and know-how to think out of the box and bring forth suggestions and new initiatives to figure out the best way forward to achieve this. What You Bring To The Role 5 years experience in Cloud Engineering with at least 3 years experience focussed on AWS. 5 years experience in Linux System Administration Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL Strong experience in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation) Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, Packer and AWS CloudFormation) Experience with Version Control Systems (VCS) - GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps. Scripting and Automation experience using languages such as Python, Bash and PowerShell Familiarity with Cloud monitoring and logging tools (AWS CloudWatch / ELK Stack / Sumo Logic) Knowledge of network principles, cloud security and compliance (CIS / ISO 27001) Please note that an Australian Citizenship is a must-have requirement for the role as you may need to be able to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 or higher).
