A professional and loving family in Wembley, WA are seeking a nurturing and experienced nanny to care for their speech delayed 2.5 yr old son. The days and normal hours are – 2 days per week Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday 8.30am - 4.30pm (FLEXIBLE for either a Mon, Tues or Mon, Wed etc) Additional adhoc hours required from time to time: Monthly -Saturdays 11am - 6.30pm (to be negotiated as we are flexible, typically we would lock in Sats 3 months in advance). An ideal nanny will be experienced, kind and patient, with a happy and gentle personality. A nanny that is experienced in early childhood who is responsive, attentive, communicates well with toddlers ( if can use gestures and basic sign) open to engaging and having fun with the child, spending time indoors and outdoors and providing stimulating and creative activities which will support the his learning milestones and development in a structured way. A nanny that is reliable, flexible and honest and can follow routines and structure throughout the day. We are looking for a nanny who will build a lovely bond with their son as additional days and hours may be extended over time. The carer’s responsibilities for this role will be as follows – To care for the child Follow the child routine Play and engage with the child Take the child to activities, i.e. Toddler gym, playgroup and park in the local area Laundry – Child only (Hanging out /folding etc) Light household duties - Tidying up after meal times, tidying up the play area after it’s been used, putting things back where they are found before finishing a shift, emptying the dishwasher and hoovering. Mum does meal prep and cooking. The family has a young puppy (Border Collie) who will need fresh water to be replenished and to be given its meals when required and join for afternoon play/walks with the child. The family’s expectations from their nanny are – 3 years experience as a nanny or working in child care Childcare qualifications and/or university student studying paediatric care such as a Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Speech Therapist (Preferred) for e.g Have a current first aid certificate Have a current working with children’s check card and number Display strong communication skills and speak English ( if understand basic hand gestures/sign) To be fit, healthy and active Non smoking Up to date with all vaccinations (medical summary must be provided) Valid clean drivers license (Travel allowance paid per km)
