We are currently searching for 3 dedicated and experienced support workers , for casual positions in the Gordon And Russell Lea areas. These roles involve assisting participants living with Psychosocial Disability. About You: Ideally, you have prior experience in aged care, supported independent living (SIL), in-home care (IHC), or community support settings, particularly with high-needs participants. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. A positive and adaptable attitude, combined with an eagerness to learn and grow. Punctuality and reliability are essential qualities. Proficient understanding of meal management plans and their implementation. Ability to think creatively to solve problems independently. Capable of working autonomously or collaboratively within a team. Skilled in implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSP) and working with Mental Health Participants Experience in medication administration and CPAP machine Willing to work on a rotating roster Key Responsibilities: Comprehensive Disability Care: The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong history of effectively assisting individuals with a range of disabilities. This entails a deep understanding of their unique requirements and obstacles. Manual Handling Expertise: Proficiency in manual handling techniques is crucial. This involves aiding clients in tasks like showering and transfers and utilizing specialized equipment like hoists. Safety and client comfort are paramount in these situations. Reliability and Client-Centered Approach: We highly value reliability and an approach that prioritizes our clients' needs. Our support workers consistently display empathy, patience, and dedication to meeting the diverse needs of our clients. Maintaining Hygiene Standards: Diligence in upholding high hygiene standards within living environments is a fundamental aspect of this role. This includes ensuring cleanliness and organization to ensure the health and well-being of our clients. Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle challenging situations with composure are essential attributes. Support workers often encounter challenges requiring quick thinking and effective resolution. To be successful in this role you will have: Qualification in Disability or Aged Care. Have the unrestricted right to work in Australia (preferred) Hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check or ready to get one (mandatory) Hold a current police check certificate (or be prepared to get one) A current First Aid Certificate (or be ready to get one) Hold a current Australian driver’s license and your own fully registered & insured vehicle Working With Children's Check (mandatory) What’s on offer Better pay rates than the market A good number of shifts Ongoing training and support Choice of building your roster as per your availability
