Everyone at AGL is an important part of building a better energy future and we want you to join in. About the role: The Data Reliability team oversees the daily operations of the Data Platforms. This team does a mixture of support of the Data Platforms, infrastructure maintenance, and delivery of enhancements and bug fixes for data products. The Data Reliability Engineer monitors the Data Platforms and performs troubleshooting and fixes to solve incidents as well as implementing system and service improvements. Some of the things you’ll do are: Service Management of Data Platforms Monitoring the support queue and triaging and handling incidents which are logged Monitoring and actioning service requests Performing root cause analysis as part of Problem Investigation Raise Change Requests and perform change activities as required Proactively monitor the health of the data platforms and data pipelines and take preventative action as needed Monitor and analyse performance metrics and identify and implement improvements Monitor Platform KPI Metrics and identify improvements Release Management of deployments to the Production environment Perform basic infrastructure tasks which support the Data Platforms Data Engineering activities for small projects which improve platform stability and enhance service delivery Work closely with the Data Platform and Data Delivery teams to ensure optimal operation of the Production environments, minimise downtime from issues, and manage required maintenance activities We’re looking for people who have: Proven Data Engineering experience in a modern cloud data platform Good understanding of cloud data platforms ideally in the Azure / Microsoft stack Good understanding of data and analytics concepts Strong interpersonal skills, internal stakeholder management skills with high quality written and verbal communication Able to work through competing priorities and managing project delivery scope Strong organisational and self-management skills including the ability to quickly adjust work cycles to accommodate emerging priorities Stakeholder relationship development experience, with an ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
