The Kimberly Clark Australia (Millicent Mill) is a major employer in the region. The Millicent Mill is Kimberly-Clark Australia's only Paper Manufacturing facility and produces the bulk of KCA's high volume converted products. The Mill produces all of KCA's roll toilet tissue and a majority of the facial tissue for both the Consumer and Commercial business groups. The Bathroom and Facial Tissue Markets are highly competitive, and the manufacturing processes utilise high speed and sophisticated equipment, much of which incorporates leading-edge technology. About the Role: Provide technical and process expertise in the solution of specific issues or implement specific projects to assist KCA Millicent Mill meet production and quality targets. Optimise specific areas of the process to improve profitability by increasing production line speed, reducing delay, reducing waste and operational costs Priorities & responsibilities include: Provide technical support on defined and ongoing improvements of Assets, processes, product and quality through innovative solutions to problems and the application of new technologies. Maintain a technical monitoring service to the Facility by applying accumulated experience of local technology and keeping abreast of external technology. Achieve a safe operating environment by promoting safe engineering practices and applying the KCC Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Loss Control Management System Principles as required. Achieve significant improvements in quality and productivity by affecting changes through improved decisions and actions to ensure the production of higher quality goods and services. Comply with corporate policies, procedures and statutory requirements by attendance at internal and external seminars and courses, reading books and journals and communicating with manufacturer’s representatives for the purpose of achieving the highest levels of plant reliability. Maintain knowledge on relevant technologies to ensure maximum advantage to the business through application of technical know-how. New product and/or Process development. Provide technical support/ lead on design, installation, commissioning and optimising in an operating environment. Train less experienced personnel where applicable on established methods to facilitate transfer of technical knowledge. Understand and apply relevant quality management principles in all assignments and responsibilities to support the Company’s goal of achieving World Class Status in quality. Use Lean tools and principles to reduce process and operational complexity and drive a Continuous Improvement culture. About You: Bachelor Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering or equivalent 3 - 5 years of technical / production experience in tissue, packaging or related industries A strong record of success in process improvement Ability to analyse complex technical issues Ability to plan, organise, make decisions and implement feasible projects Leadership presence and mature coaching skills to train internal personnel Well-versed in LEAN Six Sigma Demonstrated strengths in leadership, interpersonal skills and functional technical skills.
