We are seeking energetic, passionate and experienced dancers/entertainers to bring our unique precincts, including Outback Springs and Blinky Bill, to life. This role combines dance, suit work, character performances, storytelling, and animal interactions to educate and entertain our guests while showcasing the importance of conservation. About the Role: As a Performer, you will report to the Wildlife Supervisor and be responsible for creating memorable experiences for guests of all ages. You will engage audiences through humour, storytelling, and live performances. Roles may include depicting the life of a station-hand in Outback Springs, bringing Blinky Bill to life as a suit operator/host or presenting our world-famous Lorikeet Feed experience. Key Responsibilities: Perform in various formats, including character mascot shows, solo storytelling, and interactive demonstrations Interact confidently with guests and our animal collection, providing information about the Sanctuary, showtimes, and animal care Deliver engaging performances both onsite and occasionally offsite, adapting to both scripted and unscripted scenarios Participate in animal care and basic husbandry under the guidance of Farmyard Keepers Maintain a positive and flexible attitude while working in an outdoor environment, regardless of weather conditions About You: To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications: Energetic, confident, and enthusiastic performer with experience in both professional shows and or amateur theatre Training or experience in various styles of dance Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage a diverse audience of domestic and international visitors Confident with performing solo in front of crowds, as well as working as part of a team Ability to learn choreographed dance routines and deliver scripted presentations A certificate in Animal Care or skills in playing instruments (such as banjo, harmonica, or guitar) are highly desirable Flexible availability to work weekends and school holidays Working Conditions: This role is outdoors in a non-smoking environment and requires a willingness to interact with animals, including birds and reptiles.
