About the role This is an exciting and unique role that will rely on your strong customer service and data integrity skills. A calm and collective demur will be required for reuniting lost animals with owners, surrenders, adoptions and general shelter operations. Make a difference to all creatures, great and small, by providing essential care and attention to the animals at RSPCA Qld. From hands-on animal husbandry to ensuring every creature thrives, you'll perform a diverse range of duties using the best practices in the field. Make a real difference every day Processing Council animal impoundments, registrations, reclaims, surrenders, compliance with MBRC Local Laws. Attending to all Council Pound and RSPCA Queensland frontline customer service and telephone enquiries. Maintaining RSPCA Queensland and Council databases. Coordinating and processing animal adoptions, surrenders, requests for private euthanasia. Provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with internal and external relations (staff, volunteers, council, agencies, different departments etc). Ensuring customers comply with Local Council By-Laws. Working alongside a team of staff and volunteers to ensure animal welfare is a top priority. Providing exceptional levels of care to animals including general husbandry, dietary requirements and enrichment. Assisting in animal health examinations and administering routine veterinary preventative treatments and medications. Ensuring high standards of shelter cleanliness/hygiene. Providing training and behaviour modification for animals in care using positive, reward-based techniques. About you You'll be a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills. If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications may also include: A strong administration and customer service background. Some knowledge to verbally and visually identifying and describing animals body language when arriving into care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including good conflict resolution skills. A passion for animals and a commitment to achieving the long-term goals of the RSPCA Qld. Excellent organisational skills, time management and the ability to cope in high pressure situations. A basic understanding of Council animal management local laws (or ability to learn) Good organisational skills. Excellent office/computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, ability to quickly learn to use both Council and RSPCA databases) Why Join Us?
