About the Role The College of Design and Social Context is seeking an Associate Learning Designer. Potential duties and responsibilities include Learning Management System development, reviewing and testing course functionality and quality, and file management. Experience in Canvas and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Teams will be beneficial. Candidates will be applying their skills to help maintain and create learning materials within the Learning Management System, Canvas. About You To be successful in this position, you’ll have / you’ll have the following skills: Familiarity and skill at building into Learning Management Systems e.g. Canvas, and Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Teams) Ability in creating and presenting learning materials in a Learning Management System. Experience and understanding of basic educational content formatting and online course presentation Reviewing course materials for accuracy, consistency and quality. Ensuring alignment and delivery of original brief. Ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. Clearly following instructions and briefs Responsibilities ​ Convert content from basic source documents (e.g. MS Word) into Canvas pages (eg. Weekly content and activities, assessment tasks, rubrics) Create interactive H5P activities (e.g. quizzes and other very easy to grasp, predictable/repetitive tasks) Uploading and file managing the academic’s source docs (e.g. PDFs, Word Docs, lecture slides, videos) Formatting/styling completed Canvas pages Generating transcripts Checking courses for outdated content Accessibility checking of PDFs Reviewing and testing course functionality in the LMS Checking documents for accessibility (e.g., using appropriate headings, alt text for images).
