Your new role You will be joining at an exciting, pivotal time of transformation within the ANZ arm of the business. Following a recent restructure and the implementation of new strategic pillars, they are now looking for an ambitious lawyer to lead and manage their non-transactional Oceania division. You will collaborate closely with the wider business while being responsible for the following: Provide trusted and relatable advice across a wide spectrum of employment matters Assist in the management of financial crime prevention Control of legal risk, specifically litigation management risk, by providing timely guidance to the business units in handling disputes and certain pre-dispute actions Provide relevant advice on financial regulations and compliance Be an independent guardian and trusted business partner by providing commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical legal support Ensure senior management is fully briefed on major issues arising in relevant business areas and major legislative changes What you'll need to succeed In order to be considered for this role, you will have the following experience: Ideally between 68 years' PAE Experience practising in 1 or more of the following groups : financial services litigation, employment, financial crime or financial services regulation Financial services industry experience Experience gained in a reputable firm and/or similar financial services institution A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to navigate and build relationships across a complex business Adaptable to a changing environment Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to manage large workloads and tight deadlines Excellent attention to detail and accuracy A calm approach, with the ability to perform well in a pressurised environment What you'll get in return This is a unique opportunity for a lawyer to broaden their practice and progress their in-house career with a leading financial group.
