As part of their expansion in the Australia and New Zealand region, they are seeking a highly experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to oversee the commissioning process for renewable energy projects. The Senior Commissioning Engineer – ANZ will play a key role in ensuring that large-scale renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), are commissioned according to the highest industry standards. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and final testing phases to ensure systems meet operational specifications and performance requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless project execution and delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead the commissioning of utility-scale renewable energy projects (wind, solar, and BESS) across the ANZ region. Develop and implement commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures to ensure project timelines are met. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth operations. Perform inspections and testing of electrical, mechanical, and control systems to verify performance and safety standards. Identify and troubleshoot issues during commissioning, providing technical solutions to mitigate risks and delays. Ensure all commissioning activities comply with local and international safety standards and regulatory requirements. Prepare detailed commissioning reports and provide handover documentation to the operations and maintenance teams. Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of systems. Conduct training sessions for operations teams on the proper use and maintenance of newly commissioned systems. Stay updated on the latest renewable energy technologies and commissioning best practices to optimise processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. 7 years of experience in commissioning renewable energy projects, particularly in the wind, solar, or battery energy storage sectors. Proven track record of successfully commissioning utility-scale renewable energy assets in ANZ or similar regions. Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, controls, and SCADA systems used in renewable energy projects. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Knowledge of local and international safety standards and regulations in the renewable energy sector. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel extensively across the ANZ region to support project commissioning activities.
