Two positions, various locations WFH flexibility Ability to obtain a Baseline Clearance 12 Month Contract 12 Month Extension Our Client, a large federal government agency with a presence in all Australian states are seeking to engage Two Senior Principal DevOps Engineers . The (EL2 equilavent) Principal DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with key business stakeholders and our local full-stack team to support and enhance project development within the Agency. The role is also responsible for managing critical internal and external stakeholder relationships, representing, and negotiating on behalf of the Agency to promote the agency’s objectives across various forums. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading the design, development, deployment, and support of the Agency’s Cloud & Data Infrastructure; Prioritizing and managing the work queue to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives; Ensuring that all solutions adhere to integration best practices; Collaborating with business stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes; Playing a key leadership role in project teams, utilising an agile development framework; Engaging with stakeholders to define project requirements, set priorities, and deliver results. Essential criteria Extensive hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services, with proven ability to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud solutions; Strong experience in building and deploying DevOps practices, tools, and continuous delivery pipelines, including GitLab, Artifactory, and Jira, to streamline development workflows; Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and management; Proficiency with version control systems like Git, combined with a solid understanding of agile development methodologies to support collaborative, iterative development; Ability to write and maintain moderately complex code across multiple programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, and Golang; In-depth experience with containerization, cluster deployment, and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient application delivery and management. Desirable criteria Experience with database deployment and administration, particularly with Postgres and MySQL, for efficient data management and performance optimization; Proficiency in administering Azure infrastructure, expanding multi-cloud capabilities alongside AWS; Strong understanding of networking, including designing, managing, and troubleshooting network configurations in cloud environments; Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault for securing sensitive data and managing secrets across cloud infrastructure.
