About the role We are looking for a Data Engineer who will play a pivotal role in PictureWealth’s mission to leverage technology to simplify wealth management and make financial empowerment accessible to everyone. You’ll help revolutionise financial wellness by merging innovative technology with human expertise to deliver a platform that fosters personal and financial growth. As a key contributor, you’ll build and maintain our data infrastructure, ensuring data is reliable, secure, and accessible for driving insights and delivering better wealth experiences to our clients. Key responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to identify and fulfil data needs Ensure data is clean, reliable, and accessible for analysis and reporting Build data integration processes between various internal and external systems Optimise data workflows for performance, scalability, and efficiency Monitor and troubleshoot data processes to ensure consistent data delivery and reliability Implement and maintain security and privacy measures for sensitive data in line with PictureWealth's privacy policy Collaborate on data governance initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements Provide documentation and training on data processes for relevant stakeholders Explore opportunities to integrate new tools and technologies into the data infrastructure Qualifications and experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role Programming languages: - Python: Proficient in data manipulation and scripting - SQL: Strong ability to query and manage relational databases ETL and EL: Experience in designing and implementing ETL and ELT processes to move and transform data effectively Cloud platforms: - AWS : Experience with services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, and Amazon Redshift - Google Cloud Platform: Familiarity with GCS, Dataflow, and Google BigQuery Data pipeline orchestration : Workflow automation and scheduling API integration: Experience in integrating APIs to fetch and post data efficiently Version control and collaboration: Familiarity with Git for version control and collaborative development practices Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Good to have Familiarity with machine learning concepts Experience with data visualisation tools like Tableau for data presentation and insights Knowledge of data governance and security best practices Experience in the financial services or fintech industry Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, and Kafka Experience working with large datasets and real-time data processing Why join us At PictureWealth, we believe in innovation, community, integrity, positivity , and growth .
