The role The Robotics Engineer/Co-ordinator reports to the Head of Robotics, the Head of Extended Learning and Director of Innovative Technology. They will design robotic systems and provide technical assistance to the College. The Robotics Engineer will also develop programs and resources for students and staff and develop best practice among the team. They will need to keep abreast of technical developments in the industry and continually improve the engineering processes at the College. Application of these skills and objectives will be mainly within the context of FIRST Robotics Competitions and VEX Competitions, as a result the role will require extensive experience with and involvement with these competitions and a track record of success. Our kind of team member You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Minimum 2 years of relevant experience Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems of robots including FLL, VEX, FTC and FRC Five or more years’ experience in FIRST and VEX competitions In-depth coding knowledge in languages such as Java, Python, C, and C++ Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and problem solve Experience of pneumatic system integration Excellent knowledge of CAD/CAM software Experience in operating Lathes and CNC machines Demonstrated ability to lead teams Willingness to support the ethos and values of the College Your kind of workplace Pymble people are at the heart of what the College offers its students.
