The role As the Principal Petroleum Facilities Engineer, you will form part of a dynamic team responsible for leading a technical role in the regulatory assessment and compliance of the WA petroleum and energy industry, which involves the analysis of complex technical information and the preparation of the reports in relation to petroleum, geothermal, hydrogen and greenhouse gas geosequestration activities. Additionally, you will play a vital role in preparing, reviewing professional reports on assessments, audits, inspections, monitoring activities, providing expert advice to the department’s Executive, resources sector, public and industry organisations applying relevant legislation to the resources industry. This role also takes complex compliance site inspections and performance monitoring of petroleum approvals for compliance with regulatory requirements. Your additional duties within the skill and scope of the position’s capabilities and departmental needs as required and taking complex assessments and providing advice and recommendations related to the petroleum, geothermal, hydrogen, greenhouse gas infrastructure will be key to your success in this role.
