Job description Job Overview: We're on the lookout for a skilled Control Systems Engineer to manage on-site troubleshooting of critical systems in the mining sector on a FIFO 4:3 roster (48 hours). This position offers a great work-life balance and is perfect for utilizing your expertise in PLCs and SCADA while collaborating with experienced professionals. Responsibilities: Provide on-site support for existing control systems and ensure seamless operation Assist in the design, installation, and commissioning of small to medium-sized projects Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on control systems and equipment Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement control strategies Manage and update control system documentation, including electrical drawings and PLC logic Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning of new and modified control systems Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during project execution Monitor system performance and suggest improvements to optimize operations Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar, with 5 years of control systems experience Background in mining and mineral processing Ensure project compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company standards Proficiency in PLC platforms (Schneider PLCs) and SCADA HMI systems (Citect SCADA) Familiarity with process control protocols (Ethernet IP, DNP3, Modbus, OPC, Profinet) Skilled in interpreting technical documents (electrical drawings, test/validation, commissioning) Experience with PLC software development (Ladder Logic, FBD) Competency in drive interface design (VSD, E/DOL, Soft Starter) Troubleshooting and resolving control systems/communication issues What's on offer: $90 - $100 p/h incl. super. 6-month initial rolling contract. 4:3 roster, home every weekend. 1st tier mining asset-owner.
