We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Secondary Music Teacher who will lead by example, promoting the College’s vision and values both in and outside the classroom. The Secondary Music Teacher will implement best practices in teaching and learning to support and elevate academic excellence in Music across Years 7-12. Position Requirements: Strengthen the presence of Music in Secondary education, including collaborative development of the Vocal Academy. Establish and uphold high standards to inspire student achievement and support staff growth. Develop and implement annual improvement and staff development plans aligned with College objectives. Coordinate and direct extra-curricular music ensembles and bands. Provide impactful lessons, mentor students in varied teaching methods, and keep curriculum materials current. Selection Criteria: Education degree with teaching qualification and TRBWA registration. Experienced in secondary Music teaching, engaging diverse student abilities. Strong knowledge of WA Curriculum and modern teaching methods. Skilled in using technology to enhance learning and assessment. Passionate, proactive, adaptable, and committed to a positive learning environment. Aligned with SCBC’s Christian values, committed to professional growth, and supportive of extra-curricular music activities. Essential Criteria: To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. To actively be a part of a Church or Christian community and exemplify Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices. To accept the College’s Statement of Faith. Build co-operative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students and parents. Work to ensure personal best practice. Ensure that decision making is based on fact and is impartial and fair. Model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.
