Join a dynamic organisation in their Operational Technology space Our client is looking for a dynamic Operational Technology Engineer to join the team. This is a full-time permanent opportunity, working typically 3 days a week int he office and two from home. (Geelong and Melbourne based locations) True flexibility of work hours (you can start early finish early or start late finish late etc) About the Role As the OT engineer, you will join a fast-paced dynamic Operations Technology team, working across a range of projects as well as BAU work. This is a full-time opportunity, with an on-call roster in place for afterhours support. On call allowance is available as well as overtime payments. Participate in and support the Operational Technology workstream as well as the ongoing support of existing operational systems. This position is required to work closely in a collaborative partnership with the Information Technology (IT) team who are responsible for the Corporate Technology and Cyber Security workstreams. This role is an electrical/electronic and communication system project engineering position within the organisation and is required to develop, support and implement a range of operational technology services, including tracking systems and sensors. The role operates within the Infrastructure and Projects division working closely with a team of specialists with an extended team comprising external service providers. About You We are looking for skills across a range of areas, including: Deep understanding of industrial control systems (ICS), IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) networks, and how OT systems integrate with IT using Cloud computing. Experience working with the full system lifecycle, from design through deployment, Coastal monitoring systems such as VHF Radio, Radar, weather sensor systems and CCTV – (Desirable) and sensor monitoring tools such as SCADA. Familiarity with cybersecurity for OT environments, including Adaptive Software Development (ASD) guidelines and best practices for securing systems like AIS and VTS against cyber threats. Proficient in systems like SCADA, Servers PCs – configuring domain environment, Microsoft, VM’s, and sensor integration with modern digital tools, making them better suited to manage the broader networked infrastructure your systems rely on Strong knowledge of communication systems GPS Telemetry and cellular networks WiFi, LTE/4G/5G, routers etc. LANs/WANs and protocols like Modbus, OPC, and TCP/IP, which are essential for integrating IoT sensors within our network and control systems. Soft skills experience in AutoCad or equivalent drafting suite.
