About the Role: Our Telfer Operation located In the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, our is our fly-in-fly-out operation, comprising open pits, processing plant and an underground mine. This role will be on an 8/6 Roster, flying on Tuesdays We are seeking a motivated and skilled Control Systems Engineer to ensure the safe, reliable, and effective operation and maintenance of our process control systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to optimize our automation systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our operations. Key Responsibilities: Provide frontline control engineering support to maintenance, production, and engineering teams. Utilise domain knowledge to assist in Root Cause Analysis, process improvement, and post-incident investigations. Ensure statutory systems are maintained and audited according to relevant legislation. Execute routine preventative maintenance, checks, audits, and patches for hardware and software components of the process control system. Deliver robust, cost-effective engineering solutions compliant with site and Australian Standards. Offer technical support, guidance, and coaching to site personnel on process control systems and best practices. Protect the safety, security, and integrity of process control systems from physical and cyber intrusion. Manage minor capital projects and maintain adequate site callout support for control systems. About You: The ideal candidate we are searching for will bring a combination of safety awareness, technical skills, and a collaborative mindset, aligning with our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Other ideal requirements include: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment. Electrical/Instrument trade certificate with 4 years of automation-specific experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Process Engineering/Mechatronics. Thorough understanding of Yokogawa Centum DCS, Rockwell PLCs, Industrial Communications Networks, and OSISoft PI Plant Historian.
