Based at our St Lucia campus and one vacancy in Gatton About This Opportunity Join us as a Principal Learning Designer (Assessment) and contribute to enhancing teaching quality at UQ. We are seeking innovative and experienced individuals to support academic staff in designing effective curriculum, assessments, and active learning pedagogies across various courses and coursework programs within each Faculty. We have multiple roles available that will report into the relevant Faculty (HMBS, EAIT, Science, BEL, HASS), with a dotted reporting line to the Strategic Lead (Assessment Transformation) in the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI). Successful candidates will be expected to meet specific key performance indicators over the three-year project duration. Key responsibilities will include: Collaborate with stakeholders including the Strategic Lead – Assessment Transformation, based in ITaLI, to understand strategic priorities and establish reporting requirements for measuring assessment transformation success. Develop assessment strategies aligned with UDL principles and programmatic assessment. Support faculty staff in creating, implementing, and evaluating innovative and secure assessment strategies that enhance student learning outcomes, align with curriculum goals, reflect industry standards, and prepare students for an AI-integrated workplace. Advise university teaching and management staff on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of resources that support assessment feedback and integrity within courses and across programs. Maintain knowledge of current practices and future opportunities in assessment technologies across the higher education sector and communicate this knowledge to the wider University community through communities of practice and other avenues. Collaborate with senior stakeholders and other subject matter experts to advance pedagogical outcomes across the University community of practice, particularly in the context of AI and assessment security. Work closely with colleagues in the DVCA portfolio including the Library to engage with resources and support available. Plan and lead internal learning and educational design projects, including coordinating the resources required for project implementation and defining the project scope and objectives in line with corresponding stakeholders and technical feasibility. About You Relevant degree and at least four (4) years of subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in developing online resources to support student learning and assessment. Demonstrated understanding of educational technology and best practices to support student achievement, engagement, and assessment security, particularly in the context of AI. Advanced analytical skills to analyse complex information and identify issues related to assessment security and integrity. Demonstrated ability to apply pedagogical theory, contemporary practice, and practical experience to analyse teaching and learning situations and apply high-level problem-solving skills to develop innovative face-to-face and online learning and assessment solutions. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative linkages with diverse stakeholders and a demonstrated commitment to respond to client needs. Demonstrated ability to work iteratively, adapt to change, and operate effectively both autonomously and as a member of a collaborative, client-focused team.
