About Food Service Department The Austin Health Food Services Department is an in-house service which consists of the following two business units: • Patient Food Services: provides patient meals for all Austin Health campus’ as well as providing a patient meals service to Royal Women’s Hospital. Currently the Austin Health Patient Food Services Department is plating approximately 2700 cook/chill meals each day. Food Services has 138 staff. • Medi-Chef: is located on the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital (HRH) campus. Med-Chef produces cook/chill (short shelf life and long shelf life) meal components for both Austin Health and other clients. About the role We have an exciting opportunity for the postion of the Store Administrator in Medi-Chef. The role reports to operations manager and responsible for the daily administrative tasks in the Medichef kitchen, focusing on managing stock levels, store cleanliness, purchase orders, goods received, and supplier/customer invoicing. The role also drives continuous improvement in customer service, ensuring efficient and accurate operations. A regular day will see you: Managing and maintaining efficient filing systems, customer invoices, and relevant documentation. Purchasing and monitoring stock levels, ensuring store cleanliness, and overseeing stock rotation according to FIFO principles. Processing supplier invoices, generating Purchase Orders (POs), and coordinating monthly stock takes. Addressing customer and supplier concerns, checking delivery quality, and resolving discrepancies with corrective actions. About you You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, skilled in managing documentation, stock control, and customers/suppliers concerns. With experience in systems like Great Plains and WPR, you ensure smooth operations, timely deliveries, and uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all tasks. To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you: Proficient in Windows NT Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and inventory management systems. Well-developed communication (including telephone skills). Planning and organisational skills. Excellent personal presentation. Ability to work under pressure.
