About the role Join us on Parramatta’s positive transformation journey by supporting the operations of Council’s community aquatic and wellness facility - The Parramatta Aquatic Centre (The PAC). This position is a key member of Council’s health and wellness team within our aquatic centre and will be responsible for the delivering a safe, enjoyable, and hygienic facility to the community and user groups on the gym floor. On a daily basis, your main tasks will include: Ensure that the Health and Wellness areas of the facility, including equipment, are well maintained and any maintenance issues are actioned or reported in a timely manner through the established process. Gym floor supervision of facility users, promoting the correct and safe use of equipment. Carry out initial fitness assessments and review members’ individual programs – referring onto Personal Trainer appointments for focussed individual support. Assist with member enquiries and lead conversion to strengthen to financial and social outcomes Planning and implementing fitness programs to achieve both short- and long-term goals of our members. Ensure that fitness programs are designed specific to the member’s needs and have an emphasis on safety. Plan and instruct circuit style group exercise sessions ensuring the safety of participants and surrounding patrons About You The successful candidate should have experience working with gym members in a similar facility, experience working taking gym floor circuit classes with up to 20 members per class, a passion for fitness and working with members to deliver high level customer service in a fitness setting. Experience in delivering personal training sessions and availability to conduct sessions will be valued. Flexibility and willingness to work a 7-day rotating roster across multiple facilities is also required. Required Qualifications include: Certificate III in Fitness or equivalent. Registered Exercise Professional with AUSactive in the Gym Instructor registration category Current Australian First Aid (Level 2) and Current CPR Certificate NSW Working with Children Clearance Desired experience and skills include: Group Exercise Qualifications Certificate IV in Fitness What’s on offer We have several Casual positions available and are offering an attractive hourly rate plus 25% casual loading, and weekend penalty rates.
