The Role Join our esteemed educational institution as we seek a qualified classroom teacher to fill a specialist role teaching VCE Geography, units 1-4. This is a dynamic, full-time 12-month fixed term opportunity, starting Term 1 2025 at our Wheelers Hill Campus. There is potential for the role to become permanent in 2026. The ideal candidate will showcase a profound passion for the Humanities learning area and captivating and stimulating students while adeptly incorporating innovative learning technologies. We are seeking an individual of enthusiasm, forward-thinking and leadership mindset, and aspirational teaching practices to join our dedicated Humanities team, working collaboratively to achieve learning area goals. There is potential for the successful candidate to take on leadership responsibilities for the learning area. Key Duties Review and assess students at the beginning of each program to provide a flexible program that caters for individual students Deliver learning programs that demonstrate a research-based knowledge of how students learn and integrate Formative Assessment Techniques Evaluate personal teaching and learning programs including feedback from students and assessment data to inform planning Design and deliver conceptually driven, student-centered learning activities Model high expectations to enable a safe and supportive classroom culture Provide reports within school standards and timelines Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours Skills and Experience Demonstrated experience teaching VCE Geography, units 1-4 A genuine passion and enthusiasm for teaching Humanities, a positive, can-do attitude and achieves KPIs set Is values-driven, able to work collaboratively in a small team and/or lead a team Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development Interest in co-curricular aspects is desirable and is able to contribute to developing curriculum Working knowledge of the IB philosophy and approach to teaching is advantageous Holds a Teaching Qualification alongside qualifications in History and Geography Holds a current VIT Registration Why Caulfield Grammar School Our culture is defined by the five values: Pursuing Excellence, Inspiring Creativity, Thriving Together, Embracing Diversity, and Living Wholeheartedly.
