About the Role We are seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager (Structural and Civil Engineering) to work with Queensland Rail’s Strategic Projects, Property and Portfolio team. In this role, you will act as the technical lead for the design and delivery of multiple station upgrades across Queensland Rail’s regional network. You will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams of engineering, architectural, and construction professionals to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. This contract position is based in Brisbane CBD with flexible hybrid working options. About You To succeed in this role, you will bring: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (civil or structural preferred). Proven experience as a design manager or design lead on large Australian infrastructure projects valued at over $50M, ideally with rail interface experience. The ability to manage design development across multiple projects and disciplines, ensuring that scope, quality, and safety requirements are met within budget and timeframes. Strong written skills to develop comprehensive design briefs, scopes of work, and functional design reports, particularly within civil, structural, and building services. The ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure design work is completed to a high standard. A positive, team-focused attitude, with a commitment to fostering collaboration and supporting a productive work environment. Desirable certifications: CPEng or RPEQ.
