In-House Counsel for a Property or Real Estate Lawyer (experience in-house or within Private Practice) to work on diverse commercial, industrial and residential development projects with a privately-owned developer in Melbourne CBD. You will join a collegiate team and work closely with an industry-leading General Counsel covering property leasing, construction, project development, environmental law, leasing et al. Client Details Privately-owned Real Estate Developer with a track record of properties and sites in the commercial, residential and industrial property space. The firm boasts an enviable culture with a small group that prioritises collaboration and unity through a shared goal. The expectation is for staff to be in the office 2-3 days/week. Description Collaborate with the General Counsel to manage property and construction transactions, regulatory compliance, stakeholder management, contract negotiation, and risk management. Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including development agreements, joint ventures, construction contracts, finance documents, lease agreements, and sales contracts. Provide legal support for property acquisitions, due diligence, project financing, construction matters, and stakeholder reporting. Profile Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor/JD with rights to work unsupervised in Victoria. Demonstrable experience in Property and Real Estate. Development is preferred but not essential and experience from Private Practice or In-House will be considered. Knowledge of property law, construction law, planning regulations and contract law. Comfortable to review, draft and negotiate contracts. Job Offer 12 month FTC where the 12 months starts on your first day. My client is waiting for the right person so they will wait out notice periods. $120k-$150k package; Flexible working - 2-3 days on-site and 2-3 days WFH. They will consider 0.8 for the right person.
