Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large Queensland government department to recruit a Data Engineer contract on an initial 6 month contract based in the Brisbane CBD and working from home. As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible for migrating data from the legacy environment to the AWS platform and building out the AWS ecosystem to ensure data can be migrated to a stable endpoint. Key responsibilities of this role: The Data Engineer will help maintain the services and tools that enable delivery of consistent, reliable, fast, secure and compliant services. Approaches to data ingestion, data storage and processing Modelling data lake and data warehouse design Implementing and building data pipelines, data integration, data testing and orchestration Under the guidance of senior engineers, implement ways to improve the efficiency and reliability of data products and services Has a product quality and business agility mindset with a strong collaboration focus that enables continuous delivery of data services Participate in product/project, teams to implement systems in line with detailed designs. You will have: Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in data engineering, data warehousing, data pipelines or BI reporting in a similar technical environment including demonstrable system design experience. Experience with cloud computing architectures and services e.g.: AWS High level experience of structured methods including process, object and data analysis and modelling. High level experience in the design, creation, monitoring and administration of data pipelines and associated standards and processes.
