Model the effectiveness of Australian Defence's warheads in combat. Must have Australian Citizenship and related FEA modelling experience $ hourly rate based on experience level Working at the Defence site in Edinburgh, South Australia The Role You will be joining a project which aims to improve the understanding of the effectiveness of Air Weapons under a variety of conditions. You will use tools including physics based finite element modelling (CTH and LSDYNA) for the fundamental investigations and stochastic models to assess probability of kill effectiveness for the weapons on the various targets. The role will use new modelling results, but will be based on the interpretation of existing experimental and modelling data for supporting evidence. The successful candidate will need to meet a number of deliverables in order to successfully complete the contact and trigger extensions. All applicants must also be willing to undergo the process to gain a security clearance. Contracts will start late October / Early November. You Will Need Relevant tertiary qualification (or demonstrated equivalent experience) in engineering or science Mechanical design and function of weapon systems and platforms Experience in weapon effects modelling, analysis, and reporting Skills in use of finite element and stochastic modelling Candidates who are shortlisted will need to complete a Selection criteria response as part of the process.
